We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager with a proven track record of working with high-net-worth individual clients and some experience in trusts, estates, and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, businesses, and their advisors to provide expert tax support and services.
  • Tax Advisory: Review client financial documents and company budgets, providing proactive tax advice and evaluating the tax implications of client activities to develop tax-saving strategies.
  • Strategic Tax Planning: Advise management on future changes to tax regulations and their impact on both individuals and businesses, ensuring clients remain compliant while minimizing tax burdens.
  • Tax Return Oversight: Perform in-depth reviews and technical analysis of complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Delegation and Team Leadership: Assume responsibility for larger, more complex business tax returns, delegating less complex tasks to junior tax preparers. Provide coaching and leadership to staff.
  • Tax Research: Delegate and manage research projects, ensuring all tax filings and advice are based on current, accurate, and applicable tax laws.
  • Client Meetings & Tax Planning: Participate actively in client meetings, offering strategic input for tax planning and representing the department in efforts to secure larger clients.
  • Complex Tax Preparation: Oversee the preparation of the more complex tax returns for businesses, ensuring compliance and effective planning.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred, advanced tax certifications a plus).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in public accounting, tax advisory, or tax compliance, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, and partnerships.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of tax regulations, tax planning, and strategies for individuals and businesses, including knowledge of estate, gift, and trust tax laws.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills. Ability to handle complex tax issues and present clear strategies and solutions.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with tax preparation software, accounting software, and Excel.
