We're working with our real estate client who is looking to add a Tax Accountant to their dynamic tax team. This role reports to the Tax Manager and will be responsible for preparing federal and state tax returns, sales tax filings, unclaimed property reports, and more. Responsibilities of the Tax Accountant:
- Prepare federal and state tax returns, sales and use tax returns, and excise tax filings
- Handle unclaimed property reports, personal property tax, and related filings
- Work on fixed asset depreciation reports, asset reconciliations, and projections
- Manage annual reports and business license renewals
- Assist with special tax projects, research, and REIT compliance
- Support audit requests and resolve tax notices
- Collaborate with external tax consultants as needed
Qualifications of the Tax Accountant:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- 1+ year of relevant tax experience (public accounting experience a plus)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with Oracle Cloud EPM/ERP is a plus
