The Talent Acquisition Specialist will provide leadership and strategic thinking in developing a talent recruitment and retention strategy and help LEAD develop its talent pipeline in partnership with the Charter Management Organization. An ideal candidate is someone who can create and refine a system aligned with a set of strategic priorities, and galvanize the resources necessary to do so.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 2 years of experience working in Talent Acquisition
  • Non-profit and/or education-related experience is strongly preferred
  • Deeply familiar with key social media venues (Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, etc.)
  • Outstanding organization and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently; ability to work independently and lead projects from start to finish
  • Results-oriented, flexible team player who is dedicated to getting the job done
  • Personable and approachable; able to build rapport with candidates quickly and ensure a positive candidate experience

Responsibilities

Recruitment & Staffing
  • Ensure that all job opportunities are publicized on local and national job boards in a timely, accurate fashion
  • Design, launch, and lead external-facing hiring events (virtual and in-person) that increase applicant volume
  • Build relationships with new and existing external partners and regularly communicate available opportunities to them
  • Maintain records of all materials used for recruitment, including interview notes, to share with key stakeholders
  • Partner with school leaders to coordinate and run interview processes (in-person and virtual) with the goal of driving the selection process and ensuring candidates stay engaged and move through the application process efficiently
  • Ensures accurate data in all of our recruitment systems and analyzes data to identify and address trends in real-time and make changes to outreach and selection strategies as needed
  • Manage an employee job referral program
  • Works closely with HR to ensure a seamless onboarding experience, covering aspects such as paperwork, benefits enrollment, and introduction to organization policies
  • Provides support for additional recruitment special project(s) and/or coverage as needed

Staff Development
  • Design and implement orientation programs for new staff members
  • Supports in the compliance of staff assigned professional development training and create process to ensure completion of necessary training
  • Develop evaluation methods to measure training effectiveness
  • Supports staff in mentorship programs to assure effective progress in made throughout the school year

Staff Retention
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive staff retention strategy aligned with the school's mission and goals.
  • Identify key factors affecting staff retention through surveys, interviews, and data analysis.
  • Address workplace issues that may contribute to staff dissatisfaction or turnover.
  • Develop transparent, codified career lattice to support growth/advancement of staff
  • Build intentional structures to celebrate and appreciate the contributions of current staff

General Outreach & Communications
  • Collaborate with other staff members to develop and execute an outreach strategy that builds brand awareness, maximizes exposure, and ultimately drives application volume. Venues to accomplish this work include (but aren't limited to):
    • Social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
    • Email Campaigns
    • LEAD website
    • Other advertising venues (radio spots, magazine ads, etc.)
    • Online Job boards (LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, etc.
  • Independently (and occasionally in conjunction with a graphic design consultant) develop clear, compelling, polished content for social media, website, and internal/external audiences
  • Consistently track and analyze data linked to outreach strategies, refining and adjusting our approach in response to data
  • Research, register for, and serve as a team representative at local and national career fairs, hiring events, and university fairs
  • Ensure all events are properly publicized and well-attended, and that all logistical information is clearly and effectively communicated to internal and external stakeholders

Operations Management
  • Maintain library of job descriptions, selection materials, internal policy, and all other talent/HR-critical documents
  • Design and order talent and HR materials as needed
  • Support the preparation of board materials related to hiring
  • Provide flexible "back end" support to recruiters during peak hiring season as needed - source new candidates, screen resumes, conduct reference checks, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

12-month employee. Salary to be recommended by the school and approved by the board.

EVALUATION

The performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the board's policy on evaluation.
