Talent Acquisition Manager - Ace Hardware Home Services

About This Role

The Talent Acquisition Manager will help design, coordinate, execute and optimize the attraction, sourcing and talent selection strategies for Ace Hardware Home Services (AHHS). They will be accountable for providing the strategic roadmap for delivery of full-cycle recruiting and staffing strategies across AHHS. This individual has an eye to identify gaps and opportunities in AHHS's talent attraction initiatives and identifies resources, vendors, or other solutions to improve, in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Operations Manager. This role requires a deep understanding of the home services (PCHE) industry and modern recruitment practices. They will work closely with a varied level of stakeholders, including key stakeholders, senior business leaders and HR colleagues to build and drive innovative and scalable talent acquisition solutions to improve recruitment practices, policies and resources in support of recruiting top talent into all levels of Ace Hardware Home Services.

Most importantly, they will manage a team of recruiters, coaching and mentoring the members of the team. Build and coach a high-performing recruiting team that excels at targeting passive candidates. These recruiters will be the main point of contact for all candidates.

What You'll Do
  • Recruits, Trains, Develops & Inspires a team of Recruiters and drives sourcing and recruitment methodology.
  • Manages resources and provides direction to prioritize workload within the segment, ensuring the attainment of service level expectations. Tasked with creating a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, from beginning to end, and ensuring its consistent application among the team of recruiters. This role involves overseeing all components of recruitment, from intake meetings to the completion of searches, in collaboration with various departments across AHHS.
  • Works as part of a team on talent acquisition projects and drives continuous improvement efforts to develop recruitment marketing strategies and programs based on business needs and priorities that ensure an ongoing pipeline of top talent to fill open positions.
  • Builds strong partnerships with key stakeholders including Senior Business Leaders, Corporate Vice Presidents, Regional Vice Presidents, General Managers, HR Managers, Talent Acquisition Partners/Specialists and Hiring Managers to effectively support and influence the adoption of talent acquisition strategies and standardized processes.
  • Provides outstanding internal and external service, negotiation and closing skills.
  • Consults with hiring managers to understand the required skills, competencies, the impact on the role, and the ideal fit to the team and company's initiatives and strategy, updating, advising and coaching hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Uses traditional and non-traditional recruiting techniques to attract and evaluate candidates, building applicant talent pools by researching and contacting community services, Universities and Colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; maintaining reports.
  • Leads and participates as part of a project management team on any new tool/process implementation, including build, test, pilot, deploy, education (change management), and maintenance.
  • Leads the development of talent pipelines and programs (e.g. trade schools, colleges, veteran/military, and diversity/inclusive recruiting) to ensure the growth of talent pools to support the needs of the business (including Apprentice and Experienced Technician levels across PCHE categories).
  • Understands and reports out on assigned area's talent acquisition metrics, including sourcing efforts, application flow, interviewing activity, and requisition volume.
  • Manages full-cycle recruitment process from intake meeting to offer for any high-level leadership or confidential open role within AHHS. May work with third party agencies on external direct hire searches. Collaborates with senior leaders on assigned searches throughout the process to assure structured, consistent and transparent experience.
What We Need From You
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred OR commensurate experience
  • 7+ years of experience in full-cycle recruitment with skilled trades/home services-based populations (Plumbing, Cooling, Heating, Electric), and strong understanding and ability to recruit in all levels of the organization from entry level to senior leadership
  • Proven track record of managing a talent acquisition team with exceptional people management skills
  • Proficiency in collaborating with colleagues, peers, and executives to achieve shared goals. You can take various input and ideas and distill them into a cohesive and measurable strategic message
  • Ability to influence stakeholders with compelling, data-driven insights and storytelling
  • Interpersonal and relationship-building skills with demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to prioritize activities with the drive, energy and follow-through necessary to achieve results while thriving in a rapid-paced, changing business environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse teams and handle many tasks simultaneously, often with inflexible tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal clients and external candidates both verbally and in writing
  • Must be detail oriented and consistently accurate
  • Big-picture thinker with hands-on style to deliver practical and effective solutions
  • Strong project management skills with experience driving projects from beginning to end with multiple key stakeholders
  • Ability to travel domestically (15-20%)
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems. Experience working with Workday ATS preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of employment laws in the United States
Compensation Details:

$117 per year
