The Senior ETL Talend Developer is responsible for participating in the establishment and implementation of new or revised Talend application suite in coordination with the Data Services team. The role must have worked on Talend Big Data, DI, DQ, MDM and ESB areas but knowing all the areas is not mandatory. Exposure or experience of working on Big Data, Data warehouse, reporting and analytical projects is an added advantage.
Responsibilities include:
• Design and implement the ETL process using Talend Application suite to load the data from source to target database
• Involved in data extraction from flat files and xml files using Talend by using java as backend language
• Create and support Web Services that integrate ETL Jobs with internal application.
• Extensively used components in Talend like (tmap,tdie,tconverttype,tflowmeter,tlogcatcher,trowgenerator, tfilelist, tjava, tlogrow, toracleinput,toracleoutput, tsendemail, etc)
• Developer ETL mappings for various sources(.txt,.csv,.xml) and load the data from these sources into relational tables with Talend.
• Work on global context variables, and context varialbles and extensiblely used over 50+ components in Talend to create jobs
• Design, develop, debug, test and promote Java/ETL code into various environments from DEV through to PROD.
• Extracting transformed data from historical sources as a one-off job, batch process to the target tables
• Implemented error handling techniquest and tuning the ETL flow for better performance
• Designed and implanted ETL for data load from heterogenour sources to Oracle and Azure Synapse as target databases for fact and slowly changing dimensions SCD-Type-2
• Created mappings using lookups,aggregator,joiner,expressions,filter,router,update strategy, and normalizer transofrmations.Developed reusable transformations and mapplets.
Job Experience: • Must have 7+ years of application development experience with Talend.
• Experience in development and design of ETL(Etract,Transform and Loading data) methodology for supporting data transformations and processing
• Solid proven hands-on development experience in Java & J2EE framework on Unix/Windows environment.
• Hands-on development/maintenance experience in Talend.
• Experience with Restful or SOAP based Web Services.
• Proficiency with Talend Open Data Studio or Talend Big Data is a must. Must have worked on projects that have resulted in code being deployed to production.
• Knowledge of data formats and ETL and ELT processes in Oracle DB.
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD as well as Agile tools and processes including Bitbucket, Jira and Confluence.
