Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:

  • High school diploma with some additional continuing education through a certification program
  • Experience with planning and scheduling, resource allocation and quality control
  • Experience in hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Proficient in building, troubleshooting, and maintaining files and databases
  • Adept at computer software, hardware, and applications, especially in Office 365
  • Ability to troubleshoot, build, and maintain a database
  • Understand and explain complex technical manuals, written instructions, policies, and procedures
  • Prepare clear and concise reports, training materials, and forms
  • Able to lift, move, install and replace computer hardware up to 50 lb.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree or 3-6 years of experience, including experience working with policies and procedures in a higher education setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience level.

Job Description:

To aid in increased technology demands, particularly with faculty and doctoral students working in applied math and statistics, this position will offer technical support to the Department of Mathematics' faculty, staff, and graduate students; assist with social media management for the department; and provide in-house solutions and automation to facilitate departmental efficiency.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee troubleshooting and repair of hardware and software for faculty and graduate students
  • Oversee the installation and upgrade of hardware, software, and equipment for faculty and graduate students
  • Provide technical support in designing, developing, testing, and implementing computer-based applications for faculty and graduate students
  • Conduct training for faculty and graduate students on equipment and software
  • Assist in developing custom hardware/software solutions for faculty and graduate students
  • Maintain the inventory of hardware, software, and licensing information
  • Execute preventative maintenance on departmental computers
  • Construct, execute, and assist in maintaining departmental or divisional website(s) and social media platforms to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is included for prospective students evaluating our programs and offerings
