Job DescriptionJob Summary: Works within a technical team responsible for managing Windows systems infrastructure at Wake Forest Baptist Health (WFBH). Responsibilities include project management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and system upgrades. Provides documentation and knowledge transfer for new services.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience. Four years of practical experience in Windows server support and Microsoft Active Directory environment.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Microsoft and/or VMware certifications preferred, such as VCP or Microsoft Server certifications.
Essential Functions: - Possesses in-depth knowledge of Windows Server systems.
- Implements Windows systems solutions, including virtualization, backup/DR, and replication.
- Recommends systems solutions aligning with vendor requirements and internal policies.
- Provides technical documentation for implemented solutions.
- Ensures adherence to organizational standards and disaster recovery requirements.
- Supports system administrators and internal customers with Tier 2 and 3 technical assistance.
- Participates in project planning, design, and implementation.
- Creates technical documentation for new solutions transitioning to the Administration Team.
- Provides guidance on best practices for system maintenance and performance optimization.
- Conducts root cause analysis and recommends corrective measures for complex problems.
- Shares knowledge and provides guidance to less experienced team members.
- Executes tasks effectively as part of a project team.
Skills/Qualifications: - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and VMware environments.
- Familiarity with automation tools like VRealize Automation, Puppet, and Chef.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as VRealize Operations, SolarWinds, and SCOM.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and other scripting languages.
- Knowledge of computer security systems and networking principles.
- Experience with Cisco UCS blades and Cisco Nexus in a Vblock environment preferred.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery scenarios in VMware and physical environments.
- Technical aptitude and critical thinking skills.
Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with occasional long hours. Possible exposure to patient elements. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.
Physical Requirements: - Involves standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, finger dexterity, talking, hearing, and seeing.
- May require lifting up to 20 lbs.maximum
