Provide a short description of the Position: ITS is responsible for the development, ongoing maintenance, and support of the legacy Client Welfare Management System Services (WMS-Services) comprised of COBOL applications. This position performs specialized WMS Services support functions using Client COBOL, DMS, DPS, QLP, LOUIS II and OLTP for interfacing with other Client applications and servers. WMS Services is used by all local districts in New York State including New York City. WMS supports all aspects of Title XX Services and SERMA processes and is the record of authority for critical agency information including applications, eligibility, daycare, Foster Care, and Protective Services. WMS contains both "inter-agency" and "intraagency" interfaces as follows: CONNECTIONS - intra-agency, Benefit Issuance Control System (BICS) - inter-agency, EMEDNY inter-agency, Sydney on SQL (SOS), WMS and the OCFS Data Warehouse (DW).

Provide a list of the day-to-day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate: Candidate will provide general system design, application programming, unit and integration testing of developed programs and documentation of those efforts. Programming tasks may include complete unit routines or functional routines that make up discrete parts of functional units. Programming will utilize structured COBOL.
• Analysis, design and development of modifications for the WMS application using COBOL
• Perform writing of database commands, procedures and subroutines on a Client mainframe
• Analysis, design and development of both online and batch programs
• Work in coordination with the intra agency teams and customers to support the application and interfaces.
• Perform unit testing and coordination of UAT and resolve deficiencies for retest.
• Analysis and resolution of production issues relating to the application or the database.
