Candidate will be part of an integrated architecture & systems engineering team, on a multi-company teammate program, tasked with defining the operational, physical, functional, and technical architecture necessary to describe the vision and desired capabilities of an evolving program effort. Candidate will be part of the team that is architecting missile defense command and control and battle management systems in an environment that leverages existing or COTS/GOTS components with DoD interoperability in mind. Candidate will participate in analyzing high level needs and through a structured and logical approach.
Multiple positions and levels available SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Lead in authoring the development of ICDs and IDDs
• Responsible for creating System Architecture solutions and concepts for a variety of new and emerging capabilities for the system in collaboration with other Architects including lead Systems Architect, software architects, network architect, cyber architect, etc.
• Communicates and collaborates on System Architecture solutions with other teams such as software developers, networks engineers, cyber engineers, DevSecOps teams, infrastructure teams, test teams, and deployment teams.
• This includes both physical architecture as well as logical architectures across the System
• Interface with project leads, product owners, and MDA customer
• Present architecture concepts to a large variety of audiences and serve as the focal point for the System Architecture for the Capability for the development, test, and deployment efforts
• Present at internal and external design reviews
• May assist in documenting or reviewing architectures in a MBSE tool such as CAMEO
• Maintains knowledge of current and developing technologies and design methodologies, in the area of DoD Command and Control and COTS/FOSS information technology products REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Experience being part of a team that architected systems in an environment that leverages existing or COTS/GOTS components with DoD interoperability in mind
• Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions
• Experience with identification of desired capabilities, definition of desired capabilities; communicating the desired capabilities to a diverse group of developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users; and generating architecture artifacts to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities
• Experience developing system engineering and architecture artifacts (e.g. Specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, etc.)
• Experience creating briefings, creating/reviewing architecture designs and artifacts, and presenting at DoD Customer Design Reviews.
• Experience as a technical leader for a DoD Systems Engineering or Development effort
• Familiarity with Private Cloud solutions and IT technologies such as VMWare/Nutanix, RedHat, Network solutions
• Familiarity with DoD Cyber requirements, RMF, and associated solutions
• Familiarity with Software development and Java based software solutions
• Familiarity with DevSecOps and/or Digital Engineering Transformation (DET) methodologies and solutions
• Familiarity with Agile development
• Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo tool
• Familiarity with requirements management tools, e.g., DOORS
• Candidate must have Systems Engineering/Architecture and/or Test Experience on a DoD Program.
• Candidate must have the desire to be a Systems Architect on a complex Command and Control DoD Program.
• Candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to present technical concepts to a diverse group of engineers.
• Additionally, Candidate Must possess a Minimum of two of the below skillsets:
• Experience in creating new System Architecture concepts and solutions
• Information Technology/Computer Science/Software/Network related work experience on an integrated team working with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions for a DoD Program
• Experience as Technical Lead/Systems Engineering SME or Systems Engineering technical leader in the Missile Defense, Space, or Link 16 Domain EDUCATION
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree
• Considered an emerging authority
• Secret Clearance Required to start
