Job Summary: The Technical Lead will provide expert-level leadership in the analysis, implementation, and administration of technologies used within the organization. Specializing in VMware, VDI, and Microsoft Windows Servers, the role requires a seasoned leader to evaluate and recommend solutions that improve performance, stability, and cost efficiency. The Technical Lead will work with project teams to ensure smooth system implementations and provide technical guidance to enhance decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities: Technology Analysis & Improvement:
Analyze and evaluate new and existing technologies within the organization (e.g., VMware and VDI), documenting recommendations for performance improvement, enhanced stability, and cost reduction.
Project Leadership & Coordination:
Lead project teams as the technical expert for system implementation projects. Collaborate with project managers and leadership to set goals, identify subject matter experts, and offer technical best practices for decision-making.
System Administration Expertise:
Provide expert-level system administration support for Microsoft Windows Servers, Active Directory Administration, and other core Microsoft services like Group Policy, DFS, DHCP, and DNS to manage, monitor, and support agency-managed application servers.
Certificate Management:
Oversee the creation, support, and maintenance of certificates for core systems, third-party integrations, and other authentication/authorization services, ensuring robust security protocols are in place.
Technical Support & Best Practices:
Offer lead technical support across various projects and systems, helping the team apply best practices and resolving complex technical issues.
Required Qualifications: Experience: - 10+ years of experience analyzing new and current technologies within an organization (VMware and VDI) and providing documentation and recommendations for performance and cost improvement.
- 10+ years of experience in leading project teams as the technical expert in system implementation, including collaboration with project managers and leadership to ensure successful outcomes.
- 10+ years of expert-level system administration skills with Microsoft Windows Servers, Active Directory, and other core Microsoft services (Group Policy, DFS, DHCP, DNS).
- 7+ years of experience in the creation, support, and maintenance of certificates for core systems and third-party integrations.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with VMware vSphere, VDI solutions, and cloud computing platforms is a plus.
- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks would be beneficial.
- Experience with security protocols and tools used for authentication/authorization services is a bonus.
Certifications (if any): Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) - Preferred.
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) - Preferred.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) - Desired.
CompTIA Security+ - Desired.
