The Operational Technology (OT) Network and Systems Administrator is a technical subject matter expert to assist in the design and deployment of IT/OT infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration of industrial control systems (ICS) with IT networks. The role involves configuring and deploying servers, workstations, and network equipment while ensuring system security, reliability, and performance in industrial environments. This position will be reporting to the VP of Information and Operational Technology.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
Effective design and support of operational technology infrastructure for projects and services within Inframark A&I.
Successful engagement and collaboration with project teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
Lead and manage each assigned project, ensuring delivery within the contracted scope, schedule, and budget, while continuously improving project efficiency, customer experience, and profitability. Consistently exceed key performance indicators related to customer satisfaction, profitability, and quality of deliverables.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
System Configuration and Deployment:
Configure and deploy Windows and Linux servers in IT/OT environments.
Configure and deploy workstations and thin clients for operators, engineers, and technicians.
Install and configure virtualization solutions (VMware, Hyper-V).
Implement system updates, patches, and security hardening for IT/OT assets.
Develop and maintain system documentation and configuration guides.
Industrial Network & Equipment Management:
Configure, deploy and troubleshoot networking devices (managed switches, routers, firewalls, cellular gateways).
Implement network segmentation and security best practices (e.g., firewalls, VLANs, ACLs).
Design and implement secure remote access solutions for customers and support teams.
Maintain accurate network documentation including topology diagrams, IP address schemes, and device configurations.
Control System & OT Integration:
Assist in deployment and integration (SCADA for high-level monitoring, DCS for complex process control, PLC for individual machine control, HMI for operator interaction) and IT/OT Network infrastructure.
Support industrial automation projects by ensuring proper data flow between field devices and enterprise systems.
Work with cloud and edge computing solutions for data analytics and industrial IoT (IIoT) applications.
Assist in evaluating and integrating new technologies and systems as part of digital transformation initiatives.
Cybersecurity & Compliance:
Implement security best practices aligned with IEC 62443, NIST CSF, and other industry standards.
Conduct system hardening and vulnerability assessments for IT/OT environments.
Implement firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and endpoint security.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer security requirements.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
Provide on-site and remote support for IT/OT systems, including incident response and root cause analysis.
Collaborate with operators, engineers, and IT teams to troubleshoot and diagnose system failures.
Train end users and plant personnel on system functionality and best practices.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The OT Network and Systems Administrator reports to the VP of IT / OT.
The OT Network and Systems Administrator works directly with the Project Managers, Project Execution resources, Field Managers and Technicians, and RVPs to ensure alignment and accuracy of deliverables.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in network/system administration, preferably in an industrial/OT environment.
Strong understanding of Ethernet/IP networks, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall configuration.
Experience with Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Experience configuring Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto networking equipment, a plus.
Hands-on experience with industrial networking (Hirschmann, Siemens, Allen-Bradley), a plus.
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for IT/OT environments.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in fast-paced industrial settings.
CERTIFICATIONS (Not Required but a Plus):
CompTIA Network+, Security
Cisco CCNA/CCNP (Industrial Networking)
ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Certificate
Fortinet, Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or Hirschmann Certifications
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of a telephone, e-mail, and other digital tools for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods in front of a computer monitor is common. Hearing within normal ranges is necessary for communication with the Project Execution resources and customers. Adequate vision is needed for using a computer monitor. Lifting of computer servers, workstations, and peripherals is expected. Good manual dexterity for setting up computer equipment and attaching associated cables.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The job is performed both indoors at the office and at the jobsite. Activities include extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer monitor. This job includes the potential of working irregular hours with on-call availability to troubleshoot project startup and warranty problems.

TRAVEL
Up to 25% of travel may be required for Inframark office visits, team meetings, customer relations, service oversight, support a start-up / commissioning of a project, and internal or customer witnessed tests.
