JOB TITLE: Systems Analyst I

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOB:This is a responsible position involving highly technical work assisting the Information Technology Team in the operation and maintenance of the City's network and computer infrastructure. Under general supervision of the IT Manager, this position will assist in the maintenance of, and provide support for, existing information technology systems.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:Provide tier level 1 and 2 help desk support to all users of information technology (IT) systems. Performs a variety of computer support activities (in-person and via telephone), including hardware maintenance. Maintain and upgrade all user level workstations, printers and all other IT Equipment. This involves various jobs that are performed on a daily basis including assisting users to perform within a particular program or computer, involvement directly with the programs for the Gas Billing Office, Finance Department, Police, and Fire Department, and as needed by other city departments. Will provide assistance to the Network Administrator as needed. Work both in the office and outdoors. Perform other duties as assigned.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: - A+ Certification required within one year of employment.
- Associate in computer science, net+ and computer operation training, or equivalent training and experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with system users and co-workers.
- Considerable knowledge of computer systems, cloud storage, communication systems and related software.
- Training in Windows operating systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
- Neat in appearance, good moral character and not convicted of a felony crime.
- Physically capable of performing essential job functions.
- Must be able to climb a ladder and work at elevated levels.
