Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and security-focused Systems Administrator to join our team in supporting a high-security research computing environment. This role involves the administration, configuration, and security of diverse operating systems, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and implementing cutting-edge technologies with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity best practices. Key Responsibilities: Administer and securely configure various operating system distributions (Windows/Linux). Provide operational support for systems, servers, and hardware via a ticketing system. Oversee installation and configuration of systems in compliance with government regulations. Generate and maintain system, security, and process documentation. Identify, respond to, and remediate system and network security vulnerabilities. Implement, test, and support new technologies while ensuring compliance with security standards. Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies. Present security principles and technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and configurations. Required Qualifications: Active Top-Secret security clearance Active or ability to obtain and maintain a DoD 8570-compliant certification (e.g., Security+, CASP+, CySA+). Strong knowledge of NIST/ISO standards, DoD directives, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-171/53, CMMC). Experience with systems integration in heterogeneous network environments. Proven experience in systems administration within high-security or research computing environments. Preferred Qualifications: Current, fully adjudicated counterintelligence polygraph. Experience automating management of Windows and Linux systems. Proficiency in VMware administration (vRealize, vSphere, NSX, SRM). Experience developing secure baseline configurations for Windows and Linux systems. Familiarity with LDAP authentication and management. Experience with enterprise storage solutions (ECS, Unity, Nimble, PowerStore). Knowledge of systems management tools (SCCM, Centrify, Puppet/Foreman, Red Hat Satellite). Expertise in Active Directory and Group Policy management. An ACTIVE U.S. Government Security Clearance is Required to be considered for this role.
