Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a System Administrator. As the System Administrator, you will be supporting the Strategic Warning and Space Surveillance Directorate which consists of the Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization (PARCS) Program Office Division. Their mission is to maintain and sustain the PARCS radar through Life Cycle Logistics, Program Protection, System Engineering and Program Management required for the operational readiness of the radar. This is a full-time position on Peterson Space Force Base and contractor locations, Colorado Springs, CO. Expect 40% telework within the Colorado Springs area unless otherwise designated by the government customer. Responsibilities Developing and maintaining computer security programs ensuring components are secured physically and logically. This shall incorporate at a minimum vulnerability management, patch management, system back-up, and auditing programs. Ensure systems are operating within the current security guidelines, with the approved hardware/software with up-to-date patches and version releases. Installation, configuration troubleshooting, and maintaining system configurations of all hardware and software in assurance of overall system confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Implementation of required Information assurance vulnerability alert (IAVA) NOTAMs and Mission Tasking Orders affecting the system baseline. Utilize Vulnerability Management guidelines and conduct system scans to include but not limited to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Secure Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) document results and initiate corrective actions. Manages user accounts, firewalls, and patches, responsible for access control, passwords, and account creation and administration, shall be responsible for organizing, modifying, and supporting all the devices incorporated within the architectural boundary of the system. Oversee all system internal networks, to include maintaining the operating systems, applications, security tools, upgrade of software, associated hardware, and anti-virus. Monitor system performance, diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and system issues, analyze system logs, and identify potential issues with computer and network systems. Performs system backups and recovery tasks, troubleshoot problems reported or from system analysis, and initiate actions to isolate issues, replace and upgrade defective or outdated components. Maintain a network of virtual and physical machines, systems and virtual servers, computers, firewalls, routers, managed switches, intrusion detection system, and the entire computer-based infrastructure. Perform network address assignment and assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services and manage system accounts. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen Clearance: Must have an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance, and be able to maintain it Education: High School Diploma Years of Experience: Fifteen (15) years of directly related experience; including eight (8) years of DoD experience Additional experience: Have the advanced knowledge, experience, and demonstrated ability to perform tasks related to the technical/professional discipline as a senior Test Engineer Possess the ability to oversee and guide the efforts of junior and mid-level engineers Have a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply systems and test engineering standards, procedures, and practices Ability to work independently and apply the proper procedures and processes related to the area of expertise Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot various situations to develop successful outcomes within established program/project guidelines Windows and RPM-based Linux distribution experience Working understanding of Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM) Preferred Qualifications: Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance Certification: System Administration certifications based on DoD 8570 IAT Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical discipline; including five (5) years of DoD experience; OR, Master's in a related field and ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical discipline; including five (5) years of DoD experience Additional experience: Have the advanced knowledge, experience, and demonstrated ability to perform tasks related to the technical/professional discipline as a senior Test Engineer
Possess the ability to oversee and guide the efforts of junior and mid-level engineers
Have a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply systems and test engineering standards, procedures, and practices
Ability to work independently and apply the proper procedures and processes related to the area of expertise
Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot various situations to develop successful outcomes within established program/project guidelines
Windows and RPM-based Linux distribution experience
Working understanding of Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM).
