Currently, we are seeking a System Administrator Tier II.

This position supports the U.S. Army Project Manager Tactical Network (PM TN) Global Field Service Representative (FSR) Support Services program. The program provides FSR support of communications for the Government primarily for operability and sustainment of the Tactical and Strategic antenna system such as the Deployable Ku Earth Terminal (DKET), Mobile DKET, Secure Internet Protocol Router (SIPR)/Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) Access Point (SNAP), United States Marine Corps (USMC) Support Wide Area Network (SWAN) and Commercialization efforts, Micro Very Small Aperture Terminal (mVSAT), VSAT, Inflatable Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Terminal (ISA) CJNCC NETOPS Multinational Information Sharing (MNIS) Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIXS), Coalition Partner Network-X (CPN-X); and Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF)-OIR AO-wide Network, but are not limited to only these terminals and support.

The System Administrator Tier II performs a wide range of activities associated with the day-to-day responsibilities for maintaining and operating a computer system and/or network. System Administrators are responsible for installing, supporting, and maintaining servers or other computer systems, and planning for and responding to service outages and other issues.

Responsibilities

  • Candidate must be prepared to live and work in the country of Bahrain.
  • Candidate is required to work 60 hours per week.
  • Maintain and manage the network server and systems infrastructure.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and Domain Name System (DNS).
  • Manage Microsoft operating systems Window Server 2008 (R2) and Windows Server (2003).
  • Manage and troubleshoot messaging protocols and operations with Microsoft Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010 products.
  • Manage Symantec backup exec and NetApp SNAP manager utilities.
  • Provide support in the deployment and configuration of network systems.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and configure network hardware and software.
  • Deploy vendor updates and security patches.
  • Perform systems performance diagnoses and scalability assessment activities.
  • Apply best practices and in compliance with security and DISA guidelines.
  • Compose and maintain network documentation, such as topology diagrams, circuit/equipment inventories, and configuration reports.
  • Utilize BMC Remedy IT Service Management (ITSM) suite and IT Business Management (ITBM) and related tools:
    • Asset Management and Configuration Management.
    • Change Management
    • Knowledge Management
    • Assist in the tailoring and implementation of the Joint Enabling Capability Command's (JECC) Knowledge Management Plan (KMP) template to meet the supported commands' mission objectives.
    • Provide functions that support knowledge management, visualization, process mapping, the Joint Operational Planning Process, development, and implementation execution of KMP.
  • Participate in daily and weekly workplace meetings, as required.
  • Abide by all corporate, Government, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Apply performance standards and quality control standards as directed by the Standard Operating Procedures of the company and the Government.
  • Abide by all safety and security rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties related to the position.
Qualifications

This position requires:

  • US Citizenship
  • US DOD Secret Clearance
  • A valid current US Passport

Must Possess the Following Certifications:

  • Security+ CE
  • Network+ CE
  • Must maintain active Certifications throughout employment

Additional Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Management or a related field and six (6) years of related work experience.
  • Must possess two (2) years of experience working in a military environment.
  • In lieu of a BS degree, must possess an Associate's degree and seven (7) years of related work experience.
  • In lieu of any degree, must possess eleven (11) years of recent related specialized experience.
  • Candidate shall have knowledge and familiarity with reviewing and deploying vendor updates for security patches.
  • Must possess knowledge with storage technologies such as Storage Area Network (SAN) or Network Attached Storage (NAS).
  • Candidate shall have knowledge of server performance tuning and monitoring tools.
  • Must have experience and knowledge with server configuration and management tools (Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • Network troubleshooting skills and knowledge of networks are required.
  • Must possess technical documentation skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
