Position Summary
The Systems Administrator maintains and supports the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems, by working with Infor XA on an AS/400 and has a strong understanding of IBM i architecture, commands, and tools like CL programming.
Essential Functions
- Perform system maintenance tasks, such as systems back up, recovery, and file maintenance to promote uptime and efficient performance.
- Acquires, installs, and tests system software upgrades and computer components.
- Configures software and resolves technical problems.
- Maintains documentation of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting procedures.
- Manage Infor XA including user roles, workflows, and troubleshooting application-specific issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field required.
- 2 - 4 years of related experience required.
- Experience with Infor XA is required.
- Experience with AS400/IBM Power Systems is required.
- Certifications such as IBM Certified System Administrator - IBM i is preferred.
- Proficient in DB2 for i and basic programming skills in RPG or CL required.
- Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
- Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
- Ability to determine computer problems and to coordinate hardware, software, and/or network solutions.
- Ability to analyze and resolve basic computer problems.
- Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on using PC, server, and/or network applications and systems.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee must be able to:
- Routinely sit, sometimes for extended periods, and work on a computer.
- Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
- At such times, a greater amount of physical exertion, standing and walking would be required.
Work Environment
