What You'll Do

As a Systems Administrator (Linux/Windows), you'll play a key role in supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure with a careful, process-oriented approach. You'll help manage Linux-based HPC clusters, assist in resolving complex software licensing issues, and provide support to users who rely on your clarity and expertise.

HPC Cluster Administration & Support ( 25% of position)
  • Deliver responsive support to 50+ engineers pushing the limits of simulation with high-performance computing clusters running Ansys software.
  • Help maintain and optimize our Linux-based HPC environment using OpenPBS and Ansys RSM-keeping compute power reliable and ready.
  • Contribute to the upkeep and development of our custom HPC job status website built with Tomcat, PHP, CGI, and HTML.
  • Note: Experience with Ansys software is not required-training provided.
Ansys Licensing and Installation Technical Support ( 50% of position)
  • Keep external customers running smoothly with responsive, helpful, expert-level support via email and scheduled meetings - focusing on creating great experiences.
  • Troubleshoot everything from installations to complex licensing puzzles. You'll dig into diagnostic logs, uncover root causes, and collaborate directly with Ansys when needed.
  • Share your knowledge by writing clear, helpful technical articles for our public-facing knowledge base.

IT Help Desk Support ( 25% of position)
  • Deliver responsive, high-quality support via email, phone, and in person-keeping internal teams productive and tech headaches minimal.
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day hardware and software issues across Windows and M365 environments with speed, clarity, and a solutions-first mindset.

Required Experience

• 4+ years of relevant IT experience or equivalent certifications

• Proficiency managing and troubleshooting Linux OS (Red Hat/Ubuntu) software, hardware and networking issues

• Ability to troubleshoot open-source software effectively

• Proficiency managing and troubleshooting Windows OS software, hardware and networking issues.

• Experience with Windows Server

• Strong technical documentation skills

Bonus Points For:

• Bash, CGI, PHP scripting, or HTML

• Windows Remote Desktop Services Experience

• Experience with HPC clusters, OpenPBS or Slurm schedulers

• Familiarity with Ansys software, FlexLM, and HPC environments

• InfiniBand/RoCE networking, Windows AD integration

• Industry Certifications

Pay range: $75,000 - $100,000 (Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location)
