Systems Administrator Girard College is a full scholarship boarding school that fosters intellectual curiosity, social development, and emotional growth in academically focused students from underserved communities. Under the supervision of the Director of Technology, the System Administrator is responsible for the management and oversight of critical IT systems and infrastructure that support the school's academic, administrative, and residential operations. This includes server and network administration, identity management, cloud platforms, and endpoint security.
Responsibilities:- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including domain controllers, Hyper-V, and DHCP
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory user lifecycles, OU policies, and group access controls
- Support Tools4Ever HelloID for provisioning and SSO integration across platforms
- Maintain Jamf School (Apple MDM) and Microsoft Intune (PC MDM) environments
- Monitor and maintain Cisco Meraki network infrastructure, including switches and access points
- Administer Untangle firewall policies, VPN access, and web filtering configurations
- Manage user provisioning and licensing in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
- Oversee app integration and rostering using Clever
- Support academic and operational platforms such as Infinite Campus and Magnus Health
- Administer Mitel Connect Director for VOIP user and system configuration
- Maintain the Genetec camera system and Entrust ID card management
- Respond to alerts from Trustifi email security and Kaseya Dark Web ID
- Assign and maintain technology asset inventory using IncidentIQ
- Document SOPs and internal technical procedures for the team's internal knowledge base
- Participate in project planning and implementation for campus technology upgrades
- Interface with vendors and managed service providers for technical support and escalations
- May be required to provide 1st and 2nd level support, as needed.
QualificationsPhysical Requirements and Work Environment:- Works in an environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts
- May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time
- Able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office environment
- Occasionally works in wiring closets, server rooms, and outdoor weather conditions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems required.
- Strong experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V, and DHCP
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Meraki, and firewall systems
- Hands-on experience with Jamf School, Intune, and endpoint management
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience supporting K-12 educational environments is a plus
- Certifications in progress or completed (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundations)
- Minimum 4 years' experience in system administration or enterprise-level IT support
