Description Enterprise Services, part of IT Services at the University of Iowa, is seeking a Systems Administrator to manage enterprise workstations on the Enterprise Client Management Team (ECM).
Duties to include:
- Software packaging, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment.
- Windows client management and support, leveraging Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Microsoft Intune.
- Group Policy Object configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment.
- EntraID Security Group creation and management
- Troubleshooting escalated incidents regarding device management, the printing service, and encryption.
On a typical day, this role will work on the development and support of mission-critical services for the University of Iowa.
This role will require experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows operating systems and knowledge of Active Directory. The individual in this role will be open to change, curious about technology, and self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
Some off-hours and weekend work are required, along with sharing a 24x7 on-call support.
This position is eligible for onsite, hybrid, or remote work within the state of Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.

Qualifications Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Experience (typically 3-5 years) managing Windows devices and deploying software to Windows devices using management tools like Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and/or Intune, or closely related experience.
- Knowledge of enterprise-level configurations, including supporting and managing related technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Experience creating and managing Active Directory Computer Objects, Active Directory Security Groups, and Active Directory Organizational Unit Structure in Active Directory and Entra ID.
- Experience creating and managing Group Policy Objects.
- Knowledge of programming or scripting (Microsoft PowerShell or equivalent.)
Desirable Qualifications: - Experience creating and managing Computer Objects and Security Groups in Entra ID Active
- Experience managing Windows devices in Microsoft Intune utilizing configuration policies and Intune application deployment
- Experience managing and troubleshooting printers, print queues, and windows print servers.
- Experience managing and deploying printers using printer management
- Software. (PaperCut or equivalent).
- Experience managing non-Windows Operating Systems like iOS and macOS using management tools (JAMF Pro or equivalent).
- Experience setting up and managing Azure Virtual Desktop Host Pools.
