Job Title: Systems Administrator The success of H&S Bakery depends on reliable IT systems that enable each department to operate efficiently. We're seeking an experienced
Systems Administrator who's eager to expand their technological skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This individual will be responsible for protecting critical systems and assets, developing and deploying solutions, implementing new software and hardware, providing training, and assist in developing the overall IT strategy. From the start, the Systems Administrator will take on challenging assignments, lead initiatives, and drive results. The ideal candidate is passionate about applying skills and expertise to maintain and improve systems, daily while leveraging their skills to enhance operational efficiency.
Objectives of this Role - Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
- Take responsibility for projects and solutions within the larger business initiative
- Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems that provide commercial advantages in the marketplace
- Work with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements
Admin Responsibilities - Perform Windows server administration tasks (ex: AD user/group, AD security permissions, AD group policies, print services, etc.); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly
- Monitor datacenter and node health using existing management tools, and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed
- Maintain internal infrastructure requirements, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
- Assist the help desk and other teams with troubleshooting to identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed
- Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backup and restore procedures
- Perform scheduled monthly Windows server updates and unscheduled, emergency server updates when required
- Assist IT Management and/or network support vendor as needed with projects and support. Examples include:
- Migrate user files from file server to MS OneDrive/Teams
- Perform software upgrades such as Timberline
- Configure SolarWinds IP/Device Tracker modules for enhanced network monitoring and troubleshooting to be used by the entire Team
- Participate in the on-call rotation as well as 24/7/365 to support the company user base and team when needed. Offer backup support when Tier 1/2 needs to escalate critical issues after hours.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay abreast of industry best practices regarding security and system integration
Microsoft 365/Mimecast/Security - Experience with O365 Admin Center, and its Conditional Access Policies is strongly preferred
- Monitor mail flow and assess email system health. Ensure security policies are aligned with industry standards and best practices and make recommendations regarding new and emerging practices that will enhance the security of the H&S Bakery
- Audit, research, and remediate Microsoft 365 security breach attempts. Evaluate spam and phishing attempts and potential impact to the H&S email system. Produce appropriate reports and recommendations as needed.
- M365/Azure/Exchange Administration - move, adds, changes
- Active Directory Administrator - keep Active Directory up to date, set up user access and trouble shoot permission issues, set up and manage group permissions
(experience with ManageEngine AD Manager Plus and ADAudit+ is a plus)
- Group Policy Object administration - create, manage and troubleshoot GPO's for workstations, groups, users
- Create, manage, and run PowerShell scripts to update user accounts
- Use KnowBe4 for spam training to monitor phishing attempts, send out phishing tests and deploy end-user cybersecurity training
Help Desk - Handle technical escalations and more advance inquiries beyond the skills or knowledge of Tier 2 support
- Troubleshoot escalated help desk tickets related to M365 and Mimecast
- Manage a Help Desk staff of four
- Mentor and share knowledge with Tier 1/2 support staff
- Assist with developing and maintaining documentation and IT Help Desk materials as needed
- Analyze performance of Help Desk activities using key metrics. Identify problem areas and bring them to the attention of IT Management. Implement agreed upon solutions to enhance the quality of service and to prevent future problems.
Required Skills and Qualifications - Proven success as a Systems Administrator with 1 to 3 years of experience in this role
- Experience with or knowledge of operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, performance-monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science
Preferred Skills and Qualifications - Experience working together with a Managed Service Provider
- Professional certifications
- Experience in project management, and cloud computing (specifically Microsoft Azure)
- Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
