Establishes and implements standards for computer operations to ensure compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.
Experience managing and maintaining Active Directory (AD) environments, including user and group account administration, password policies, and organizational unit (OU) structure.
Skilled in creating, modifying, and applying Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to manage user and computer configurations across the domain.
Proficient in managing domain services such as DNS and DHCP integration within AD environments.
Knowledge of setting up and maintaining trust relationships between domains and forests.
Ability to troubleshoot AD replication issues, authentication problems, and domain controller health.
Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems.
Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups, and performs data recoveries.
Recommends hardware and software upgrades based on growth statistics and disk space forecasts.
Configures hardware, including workstations, printers, servers, and tape devices.
Provides technical support for system users.
Performs work under general supervision.
Handles moderately complex issues and problems, referring more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Network Management:
Understanding of network topologies, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
Ability to troubleshoot network issues and optimize network performance.
Operating Systems:
Proficiency in managing various operating systems, particularly Windows Server and Linux.
Experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of these systems.
Virtualization:
Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Citrix.
Skills in managing and troubleshooting virtual machines and environments.
Security:
Familiarity with security best practices, firewalls, antivirus, and anti-malware solutions.
Experience managing user permissions, access controls, and implementing security policies.
Scripting and Automation:
Ability to write and understand scripts in languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Experience with automation tools to streamline administrative tasks.
Backup and Recovery:
Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
Experience with data backup processes, restoring systems, and ensuring data integrity.
Database Management:
Understanding of database management systems (DBMS) like SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle.
Ability to perform database maintenance, backup, and recovery.
Hardware Management:
Experience with server hardware, storage systems, and peripheral devices.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues.
Cloud Services:
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Skills in managing cloud-based infrastructure, services, and deployments.
Server Patching:
Experience in applying patches and updates to servers to ensure systems are secure and up to date.
Documentation and Communication:
Ability to document processes, configurations, and changes accurately.
Strong communication skills to interact with team members, other departments, and vendors. Qualifications An active DoD Secret clearance is required for consideration.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Telecommunications, or Management Information Systems preferred, with 7 years of documented experience relevant to this position. Alternatively, 7 years of documented experience relevant to this position.
Demonstrated 5 years of experience in producing, managing, and maintaining network architectural drawings and schematic diagrams.
Demonstrated 5 years of experience providing installation support for network applications.
Demonstrated 5 years of experience performing network monitoring, including all assets.
Demonstrated 5 years of experience providing technical support, advice, and troubleshooting for utility network operations with a 99.999% target network uptime.
Demonstrated 5 years of experience producing documentation for use in configuration, repair, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network operating systems.
Demonstrated 5 years working with TCP/IP in Software Defined Network (SDN) design.
Demonstrated 5 years of experience troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
Demonstrated 5 years of experience installing and configuring network equipment.
Must have Secret clearance.
