Systems Administrator 3
Location: Topeka, KS
Duration: 6 Months Contract to Direct hire
Rate: Contract Rate: $45.00/hr
Direct Salary Range: $68,000 - $76,000/yr + Benefits
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Our Systems Administrator maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems. Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency. Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts. This position is at required to work onsite at the CRF and may be allowed (with approval) to work remotely one (1) day per week.
Specific tasks include:
• Setting-up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space
• Interacting with users and evaluates vendor products
• Making recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery
• Developing and monitoring policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in computer science or management information systems (or equivalent work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree) with 2 years demonstrated work experience (or equivalent combination of training and professional work experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.)
• U.S. Citizenship
• Public Trust security clearance required to start
• Experience with the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
• Installation and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
• Installation of network devices and cabling
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to resolution
• Be able to determine and provide technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
• Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
• Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
• Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

• Microsoft Internet Information Server
• Microsoft Professional Office Suite
• VMWare / Hyper-V
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications in the following areas
o O365
o CompTIA A+
o CompTIA Server+
o Microsoft Professional Series
• Microsoft Developer Studio 2015 / 2019 / 2022
• Experience coding TSQL in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.
• Experience with Linux server administration.
• Lean Six Sigma and ISO 9001 experience or training
Physical Requirements:

• Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures
