Seeking a System Programmer Analyst for a long term contract (minimum 12 months) opportunity located in Columbia, SC. This is a hybrid position, candidate must be willing / able to commute to Columbia. This position is a traditional day shift role 8a-5p. However, OT will be required when disaster recovery exercises are performed. OT hours may range from 12 hours up to 24 hours and include weekends. There will be a minimum of 4 disaster recovery exercises a year which require extended hours. No C2C candidate
What Will You Do In This Role:
- Day to day operation is supporting the Main Frame z/OS to include updating JCL.
- Monitoring system logs via SDFS. Preparation for disaster recovery exercises to include several weekly meetings
- During the recoveries requires to recovery the z/OS and other applications as outlined in runbook
- Managing hardware/software support licenses to include submitting purchase requisitions.
NOT LOOKING FOR: This position is not for an entry level programmer this person should be a self-starter and already know how to maintain and support a main frame system.
Required Work Experience:
- 6 Years IT work experience including varied systems programming experience.

- SDSF
- Dataset management
Preferred Technologies:
- Knowledge of DASD management
- z/OS HMC management
- APF knowledge
- DB2, CICS, MQ, BMC MF applications
About The Team:
- This team is dedicated to supporting the external customer acting as a secondary portability and disaster recovery site. Currently there are 4 team members one manager. We support distributed and main frame systems.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or other job related field or 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree.
