We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in VMware virtualization technologies and Windows server environments. The ideal candidate will be pivotal in designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing our IT infrastructure. This is a hands-on technical role, where you'll ensure high availability, scalability, and security of critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain VMware infrastructure including ESXi hosts, vCenter servers, and related components.
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, ensuring stability and performance across physical and virtual servers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy new infrastructure, services, and software solutions.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies for both VMware and Windows systems.
- Automate routine tasks and enhance system performance through scripting (PowerShell, batch, etc.).
- Manage server configurations, backups, patch management, and disaster recovery planning.
- Provide technical support for VMware and Windows-related issues, resolving incidents in a timely manner.
- Perform system upgrades and patches to maintain security and compliance standards.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies to improve operational efficiency and performance.
- Create and maintain system documentation, including architectural diagrams, procedures, and recovery plans.
- Provide on-call support for critical systems during off-hours when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with VMware technologies (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi).
- Solid experience managing Windows Server environments (2008/2012/2016/2019/2022).
- Strong understanding of virtualization, server infrastructure, and storage solutions.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting or similar automation tools.
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other critical server services.
- Familiarity with backup, monitoring, and security tools for VMware and Windows environments.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery strategies and high availability configurations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Relevant certifications (VCP, MCSE, or equivalent) are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.) and hybrid cloud deployments.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with networking concepts and configurations (firewalls, VLANs, VPNs).
