Mid-Level Systems Engineer - Naval Simulation Systems

Your Mission

We're seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to support the Navigation, Seamanship, and Shiphandling Trainer (NSST) program through the Critical Design Review (CDR) phase and beyond. In this role, you'll help shape the architecture of cutting-edge simulation systems used to train the U.S. Navy in real-world ship control environments.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Contribute to the design, analysis, and integration of naval bridge simulation systems - from software interfaces to hardware components.
  • Work within the CDR phase to verify that all system designs meet performance, reliability, and interoperability requirements.
  • Support development of system specifications, and integration plans.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, simulation experts, and database developers to ensure seamless system design.
  • Develop block diagrams, cable routing documentation, rack layout plans, and system-level design artifacts.
  • Participate in configuration management, system-level design reviews, and engineering change proposals.
  • Work with system modeling and simulation tools (SysML, MBSE, etc.) to validate design choices.
  • Prepare for upcoming system integration and test by assisting with test planning and procedures.
Required Experience:
  • 3-7 years of Systems Engineering or related technical experience.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more relevant fields: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Simulation Systems, Computer Engineering.
  • Experience supporting DoD simulation or training systems is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and creating system diagrams, technical schematics, and documentation.
  • Experience supporting a project through CDR or major design milestones.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a cross-disciplinary team.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, milestone-driven environments.
Education

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
