Model-Based Systems Engineer (onsite in Deerfield Beach)
I am partnered with a client who is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer for their team. They are a leading manufacturer and designer of land and marine turn-key communication solutions whose customers rely on them for fully integrated systems that keep crews and vessels connected, safe, and efficient. They're looking to add a Model-Based Systems Engineer in Deerfield Beach to help drive their next generation of maritime communication products.
Position Summary
As a Model-Based Systems Engineer, you will design, develop, integrate, and support maritime communication systems. You'll apply systems engineering methodology to define requirements, create architecture, simulate performance, and manage integration from concept through delivery and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize multidisciplinary processes and systems engineering techniques to develop, validate, and manage product-level system/subsystem requirements and architectures
- Devise alternative system approaches, operational concepts, and architectures that balance performance, cost, risk mitigation, production, operations, and logistics
- Create preliminary system design alternatives; manage design risk and configuration data through all phases (concept development product delivery support)
- Perform analyses, simulations, and system-level design reviews to ensure engineering excellence
- Conduct system requirement analyses, definition, and allocation across hardware, software, and integration efforts
- Communicate status, issues, and resolutions to internal stakeholders; investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Assist with system performance reviews and capacity planning as needed
- Stay current on systems engineering best practices and emerging technologies
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications and budget constraints
- Execute other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Systems, Mechanical, or related field)
- 4-6 years of hands-on systems engineering experience (marine/shipboard integrated communications preferred)
- Active security clearance is a plus (or ability to obtain)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities
- Ability to manage shifting priorities with enthusiasm and flexibility
- Acute attention to detail; proven track record of planning and organizing complex projects
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines
- Sound judgment and the ability to make timely, informed decisions

- Working knowledge of data collection/analysis, evaluation, and the scientific method
- Familiarity with systems engineering tools: DOORs, Cameo, AutoCAD, MS Visio, Jira
