THIS IS AN ON-SITE POSITION. REMOTE WORK IS NOT SUPPORTED DESCRIPTION OF POSITION/DUTIES: The System Engineer III will provide core support services for Engineering Labs at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama. The support will include developing strategies for achieving security compliance by replacing EOL operating systems, mitigating vulnerabilities, log collection/analysis and achieving hardening standards for isolated and collocated systems. The candidate will also be required to re-engineer and standardize the backup/restore and Operating System roadmap for lab systems. Duties may include but are not limited to: Senior-level systems engineering support. Applies comprehensive knowledge of concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments. Provides analysis related to the design, development, and integration of cloud, hardware, software, man-machine interfaces, and all system level requirements to provide an integrated IT solution. Develops integrated system test requirement, strategies, devices, and systems. Directs overall system level testing. EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 8 Years SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS: Attention to detail and completing tasks on time. Experience with Linux sysadmin (build, manage, monitor, shell scripting). Experience with windows sysadmin (build, manage, monitor, PowerShell scripting). Experience as a Splunk user (custom queries, reports, and notifications). Experience with non-VMware virtualization (cost effective alternative). Experience with Ansible (automate system configuration). Experience with networking preferred (configure VLANS and Trunking) Experience with NetApp management preferred.
