Our client, in the automotive and transportation industry is seeking a System Design Engineer to join their team.

Job Title: System Design Engineer

Location: Greensboro, NC

Pay Range: $50-$55

Summary of the Position: Join the EE Architecture & Systems Engineering team, where we develop cutting-edge system design and architecture concepts for electrical and electronics systems. This position focuses on Bodybuilder functionality and Driveline integration for conventional, electric, and autonomous vehicles.

You will lead system design activities and contribute from early-stage concepts through to final development, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to build solutions that meet real-world customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain system concepts for power take-off and driveline integration.
  • Lead and coordinate system development activities in complex product development projects.
  • Collaborate across functions (engineering teams, solution providers, product owners) to align design concepts.
  • Propose electrical schematics, diagrams, and system design solutions.
  • Own and develop roadmaps for Bodybuilder and Driveline Integration.
  • Coordinate development of cross-functional specifications and secure necessary approvals.
  • Support diagnostics and troubleshooting, perform data collection and analysis using vehicle tools.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (BSEE/BSME); Master's or PhD preferred.
  • Experience in commercial vehicle or automotive R&D or related industries (telecom, consumer electronics).
  • In-depth knowledge of:
  • Electronic Hardware/Software Systems
  • Automotive communication protocols (e.g. CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
  • Software development, diagnostics, and aftermarket tools
  • Experience working in global/local cross-functional teams.
  • Familiar with Agile methodology and SAFe framework.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), SFMEA, and other quality assurance tools.
