System Analyst - Software Safety Full-time

Position Summary We are seeking candidates to support Complex Defense Systems through Independent analysis of software documents, contractual statements of work, test procedures, and qualification test results. Particular attention is paid to ensure that all software safety processes which are compliant to relevant the governing MIL-STDs.
This position is contingent upon contract funding.
What You'll Do Your day-to-day activities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct and review safety assessments and hazard analyses of software systems
- Develop and implement safety requirements and guidelines for software development
- Collaborate with software safety SMEs for safety considerations that are integrated into the software development lifecycle
- Perform safety verification and validation to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Participate in verification reviews
- Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations for improving software safety
- Perform the following assessments and reviews: SSA - System Safety Assessment, SAR - Safety Assessment Report, FHA - Functional Hazard Analysis, HTS - Hazard Tracking Sheets, SSHAR - Systems Safety Hazard Analysis Report, LOR Table - Level of Rigor
- Stay up to date with and advancements in software safety engineering
- Participate in weekly meetings, such as, but not limited to: IPR - In Process Review, SSWG - Software Safety Working Groups
Requirements and Qualifications: - The position requires a 4-year degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical fields or an extensive and proven background in operation of complex radar and communication simulation systems.
- Valid U.S. driver's license required
- U.S. citizenship and an active DoD secret clearance is required
- Strong organizational skills, excellent writing and communications skills
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment, interacting with software developers and software test engineers
- The ideal candidate will be able to work closely with an intermixed team of government and contractor personnel
