Internal Job Title: System Administrator
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Work Model: Remote (must be based in Continental USA)
Must be legally eligible to work in the USA Position Summary As a System Administrator in our North American Driver and Vehicle Solutions (DVIS) group, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the systems that underpin our suite of driver information system solutions for our US customers.
Responsibilities - System Installation, Configuration and Virtualization:
- Install, configure and virtualize server hardware.
- Install/configure operating systems, software, network settings.
- Write deployment scripts and manifests to deploy hardware and platforms consistently.
- Develop and implement new solutions based on new customer requirements.
- System Maintenance:
- Pro-actively monitor system performance and ensure the reliability and availability of IT services.
- Tune-up OS and deploy software updates and patches and modify deployment scripts and manifests to ensure configuration complies with security requirements.
- Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Respond to system outages and perform necessary repairs.
- User Management:
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Provide technical support and training to users.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- Implement and maintain backup solutions, including RDBMS replication, recovery and system failover.
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
- Network Management:
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Ensure network security and manage VPNs.
- Security Management:
- Monitor and enforce security policies.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Documentation:
- Document system configurations, procedures, and changes.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets and inventory.
- Collaboration:
- Work with other CBN and customer IT staff and departments to support various projects and initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand and address their IT needs.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with CBN and customer IT policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications: Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or related field) or equivalent combination of relevant education and years of work experience
- Any CISSP, LPIC, ITIL, VCP, MCSE, OCA/OCP 12c certifications are assets, but not required
- Knowledge of the following:
- Active Directory
- Virtualization
- Basic IT Security principles and protocols (TLS, encryption at rest)
- ITIL processes
- IT auditing process (asset)
- 5+ years of system administration experience
Technology Environment - O/S: Linux (RedHat or Alma), Windows Server, Windows Workstation
- Hardware: Servers, Storage (SAN/NAS), Switches Firewalls, Workstations, Peripherals
- Virtualization: VMWare ESXi
- Backend Software: Apache, Tomcat, Java/JVM
- Database: Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL
- Query Languages: SQL
- Scripting Languages: Python, Bash, Powershell, Ruby, PowerCLI
- Encryption: Bitlocker, LUKS
- Cloud: AWS/Azure
- Configuration/Orchestration: Puppet
- Tools: Git, OpenSSL, tcpdump, Wireshark, Sysinternals Suite, Atlkassian Suite

Mandatory Requirements - Legally eligible to work in the USA

- Must be able to obtain/maintain Virginia Government Security clearance
