IT System Administrator - SME (Secret Clearance)

Colorado Springs, CO - Off HWY83 north

Full-Time / On-site / $128,000-$132,000 / Full Benefits (Listed below)

Responsibilities

Operate, maintain and manage Windows/Linux based domain supporting a software development environment. Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the Windows/Linux environment and is responsible for backup and recovery (to include disaster recovery) of system data.
    • Ensure all data is being backed up per COOP and BCP
    • Ensure backup system is functioning correctly and periodically test the backup system by restoring files
    • Respond appropriately to any security or virus incident discovered in the system
    • Install, configure, monitor, manage and maintain all Windows/Linux based servers
    • Create and maintain Windows/Linux system administration processes and procedures
    • Install, configure, manage and maintain all Windows/Linux server based applications
    • Ensure all Windows/Linux based systems have the appropriate patches installed of which includes but is not limited to, security, applications and OS
    • Ensure all Windows/Linux based systems are running current versions of antivirus software with current virus definition files
    • Create, manage and maintain group policy objects, security groups, user accounts
    • Monitor, manage and maintain storage systems and devices
    • Recommend system enhancements, including but not limited to, servers, applications, storage, processes and procedures
    • Recommend when additional system resources are required or when existing resources should be retired
    • Ensure all appropriate asset management functions are completed as required
    • All other tasks as assigned by the IT site lead or IT manager Secondary Responsibilities
    • Assist the help desk respond to end users requests/issues
Experience Required
    • Technical skills supporting a Windows environment including server setup, deployment, maintenance, and hardening
    • Must also have a background/knowledge of Linux environment and administration
    • Must have working knowledge of Agile principles and practices
    • Understanding of configuration managed Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
    • Understanding of what IT's role is in Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) and how it can be applied to PaaS
    • Knowledge with applying containers (Docker) and use of container orchestration (Kubernetes)
Technical Skills Required
    • MUST have an ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE
    • Senior Windows Domain experience

Education Required
    • Emerging authority typically with an advanced degree and 7+ years experience or bachelors with 9+ years experience or equivalent;
    • Applies extensive expertise;
    • Solves complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity;
    • Work is performed without appreciable direction and is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long time perspective;
    • Erroneous decisions would normally result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives;
    • May function in project leadership roles and represents the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters on contracts
