Overview VTG is seeking a System Administrator to work at a Clients Site.
What will you do? The System Administrator will help to ensure the smooth functions of IT systems, monitor for potential issues in a proactive manner, and support compatibility between systems for a flagship integrated combat system for the Navy. They will also govern datacenter operations.
Key Responsibilities: - Install and configure software, hardware, and networks.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshooting issues.
- Ensure security of IT infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot issues and outages.
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
- Be proactive about challenges or constraints within the program and manage them accordingly.
- Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including materials, manpower and time necessary.
Do you have what it takes? - Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field or applicable work experience.
- Six years of experience as a System Administrator, preferably in the government sector.
- Demonstrated experience with VMware (Vcenter).
- Experience with Cisco ACI products or related Cisco technical environments.
- Experience with data system security.
- Experience with creating scripts in Python, Perl, or other scripting languages.
- Professional experience and high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications.
