Summary

The Student System Administrator works under the supervision of the Computer Resource Manager (CRM) and Assistant Computer Resource Manager (ACRM) in the Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) Department. The summer position typically lasts for 8-10 weeks and is full-time (40 hours/week).
Duties and Responsibilities

This position is primarily responsible to:

• Developing and deploying software images for CSE/P&E computer labs
• Hardware installations and upgrades
• Scripting/automating repetitive tasks
• Inventory
• Special projects based upon CSE's needs and the student's interests and abilities
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic office environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

• Computer Science Major
• Completion of COS120 and COS143 (completion of COS121 preferred)

Supplemental Information

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Ability to write scripts and code for automated tasks
• Familiarity with computer hardware and networking infrastructure
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Ability to self-start and read documentation to learn new skills
