Governors State University is seeking to hire an SXL (School of Extended Learning) Program Coordinator to be responsible for performing a variety of direct and supportive duties and activities for noncredit programming and student success. Incumbents in this position learn and perform a range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative to provide and support the coordination, facilitation, and implementation of workshops, classes, trainings, and events.
Essential Responsibilities
50%
- Performs administrative and programmatic work for various SXL programs to include program development, faculty and instructor assignment, student recruitment, enrollment, and reporting.
- Surveys faculty availability for scheduling, maintains classroom matrix, and coordinates instructional activities and events.
- Evaluates programs and curriculum; proposes and assists in developing program changes; implements program modifications based upon evaluation results.
- Coordinates the selection of instructional materials, supplies, and equipment to support the implementation of SXL standards.
- Coordinates program budgets relating to curriculum development and instructional material's needs.
35%- Administers SXL database(s); ensures validity/accuracy of data via reconciliation of data from multiple sources, including Colleague, Enrole system, and SXL databases.
- Enters courses into Enrole system using coding tools.
- Assists with student registrations, monitors enrollment, and maintains student records and files.
- Learns and applies emerging technologies, as necessary, to perform duties in an efficient, organized, and timely manner.
- Collaborates with Director to improve and sustain a long-term professional growth framework using a data-driven approach that supports the implementation of services for SXL programs and students.
5%- Assists various SXL personnel to plan, organize, and coordinate on- and off-campus community outreach events to attract and inform prospective SXL students of programs and available resources.
5%- Coordinates with university departments, offices, and community organizations to best serve students' needs.
5%- Attends a variety of meetings and training sessions as required. Performs related other duties as assigned.
Salary Range: $54,000.00 to $62,500.00.This is a non-unionized position.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
REQUIRED: COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS, WHICH INCLUDES THE EARNED DEGREE AND CONFERRED DATE MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION OF THIS POSITION (See "Special instructions to applicants" section below).Minimum Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree.
- Five years' experience in managing database systems and coordinating multiple initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:- Three years' experience in higher education.
- Experience in higher education coordinating curriculum or non-credit courses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong capacity to learn new systems and software.
- Knowledge of the region and external partners.
- Familiarity with coding.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:
Illinois residency required within 180 days of the hire date.
