What you'll do: Someone who loves cooking and interacting with guests. The Seafood & Sushi Bar is at the center of our dining room and a stunning focal point. You are consistent and have an eye for the important details. The ability to work well under pressure and maintain restaurant standards in a busy environment is vital. You must have 2 years of recent kitchen experience and the ability to speak and understand English. You are comfortable standing for long periods of time and lifting to 50 pounds. Availability to work weekends and some holidays.
- Expertly cut, slice and filet different types of fish
- Inspect the quality of fruits, vegetables, and fish used to prepare sushi dishes and inform the chef when quality is substandard
- Prepare sushi dishes according to established guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation and food safety
- Maintain a clean work environment to prevent food contamination
- Take a regular inventory of food supplies and other products
- Report any problems with kitchen equipment to the chef on duty
- Sterilize all utensils, instruments and equipment used in sushi preparation before every use
- Communicate with service staff to ensure that special requests and food allergy considerations are met
- Comfortable interacting with guests while preparing sushi and raw bar items
