Surveyor Assistant
Position Summary:
HR Solutions is seeking a Surveyor Assistant to join our clients' team in the Evansville, IN area.
Responsibilities:
- Set up tripods, total stations, and other equipment necessary for making measurements
- Assist with using measuring devices to determine accurate distances and angles on the ground
- Manually or electronically document measurements, field notes, and other relevant information
- Place stakes, pegs, and survey markers in designated areas according to instructions
- Remove debris, vegetation, and other obstacles to allow for accurate measurements
- Gather and label soil, water, or other samples as needed
- Load, unload, and keep surveying instruments and equipment in good working condition
- Help with research into records, maps, and other relevant materials for survey projects
- Work under the supervision of a surveyor, following their guidance and instructions
- Provide accurate and clear readings and observations to the surveyor
- Work in varied weather conditions and potentially travel to different job sites
- Following established safety procedures and regulations
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; some college preferred
- Understand fundamental concepts of surveying, geography, and landforms
Compensation:
- Hourly wage up to $30.00 depending on experience
