Summary:
The Surveillance Director is responsible for the management and oversight of surveillance staff and operations utilizing a CCTV system with the objective of observing, recording, and describing activities related to compliance with Nebraska State laws, Gaming Commission Rules, and corporate policies in place to assure the integrity of gaming, protection of corporate assets, and employee/guest safety and security.
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional service to all guests, both internal and external.
- Manage a department whose efforts are aimed at the protection of casino assets and adherence to internal controls, gaming regulations and procedures.
- Manage and maintain a closed network digital surveillance system in a 24x7x365 highly regulated casino environment.
- Provide leadership and oversight to enable successful daily operations of the department, to include delegating and assigning work.
- Responsible for leading and managing a team, to include hiring, onboarding, training, setting performance expectations, conducting evaluations, coaching, and managing employee performance/conduct concerns as needed.
- Responsible for motivating and mentoring staff, promoting collaboration and teamwork, with the goal of fostering a team-first culture that best enables the success of both the individual and team.
- Responsible for staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage based on business needs, managing time-off requests, and timely review/approval of payroll to ensure accurate pay of each team member.
- Make recommendations to the General Manager, based on observations made during Surveillance activity, concerning changes in policies and procedures of other departments with the protection of company assets in mind.
- Ensure surveillance team provides appropriate monitoring of resort activities to ensure protection of company assets, compliance with all appropriate gaming regulations, and safety of all guests and employees. Document incidents per gaming regulations and company internal controls, and report all incidents to the designated internal staff, gaming regulators and law enforcement as appropriate.
- Maintain an environment which emphasizes cooperation, communication and teamwork with all departments which depend on the support of the Surveillance department.
- Partner with the Security department to assist in investigations of accidents and suspected criminal activities.
- Work with department management to review employee related surveillance reviews.
- Ensure departmental compliance with all regulatory, internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare and manage the annual department budget.
- Review and analyze existing surveillance equipment and recommend new surveillance equipment purchases, installation and replacements to better meet the needs of the casino on an annual basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of supervisory experience in a regulated casino environment, preferably with 3 years in Surveillance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of casino cheating and theft scams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of overall casino and surveillance operations.
- Demonstrated proficiency operating in a Microsoft Windows/Office Suite environment, to include Excel and database management.
- Must have the ability to obtain a Level 1 Nebraska Gaming License.
Certificates & Licenses:
- Must be able to obtain a Level III Nebraska Gaming License
