Visit the Employee Benefits page for more information Position Summary & Responsibilities: Position Summary: This Surplus Property Agent position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Bureau of Support Services. This position will inspect and evaluate KDOT Surplus Property and process documents to properly track property throughout the system, as well as assist in the marketing and disposal of KDOT property through transfers, auctions, sealed bids, and other authorized disposal methods. The Surplus Property Agent will also provide back-up duties for the ESOB Stockroom and OSS capitol inventory. Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Administers and facilitates the disposal of KDOT surplus property and communicates with KDOT management, district personnel, and Bureau of Support Services (BoSS) for proper methods to dispose of KDOT property. Markets KDOT surplus property by preparing photos and written descriptions of the property for advertisements in websites, catalogs, publications, or other appropriate media. Provides back-up duties for the HQ Stockroom and BoSS capital inventory. View the full position description Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: 6 months of experience in general office, clerical, or administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered. Valid Driver's License at time of appointment. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of surplus property disposal procedures. Knowledge regarding surplus property regulations and policies. Advanced computer reporting skills.
