Suricata Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Suricata Engineer to support a long-term DoD program, currently funded through 2030. This work is fully on site in either Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, College Park, MD, or Reston, VA. This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance, and must obtain a CI Poly before starting Responsibilities of the Suricata Engineer: Install, configure, and maintain devices, applications, and security tools, including Suricata, Palo Alto Firewalls, Trellix ESS, FireEye, Splunk, Cribl or ForeScout
Automate deployments, configuration management, and cybersecurity tools operations
Apply DoD Risk Management Framework
Support IT projects and activities
Requirements of the Suricata Engineer: 4+ years of experience as a systems/cybersecurity engineer
Experience with installing, configuring, or maintaining devices, applications, and security tools
Experience with automating deployments, configuration management, or cybersecurity tools operations
Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
Active DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II Certification, including Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, GICSP, or CND
Ability to obtain a DoD 8570.01-M Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) - Infrastructure Support (IS) certification, including CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND prior to start date
Compensation for the Suricata Engineer: Annual salary: $135,000 to $170,000, depending on experience
