Surgical Technologist - Operating Room OR - PRN

$20,000 Sign on Bonus Available

- Previous surgical technologist experience and/or completion of a Surgical Technologist program is REQUIRED -

The Main Operationg Room Surgical Technologist performs "scrub" technologist duties for scheduled surgeries in the Main Operating Room, and assists with the draping and utilization of instruments for a particular surgery and age of the patient serviced. Demonstrates knowledge in the basic principles of sterile technique and sterilization procedures. Clinical ladder advancement opportunities available.

Qualifications:

Education:

Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program and/or have previous Surgical Technologist experience REQUIRED.
Completion of Anatomy and Physiology classes preferred.
High School graduate or equivalent required.
Attends JCAHO, OSHA, and hospital/nurse manager-specified mandatory in-services.
Obtains four contact hours in area of interest

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

Maintains current CPR certification
Surgical Technologist Certification preferred

Experience:

Previous experience in multiple surgical specialties is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Performs duties in a capacity of "surgical" technician as prescribed by hospital policies and procedures.
Assists in the orderly functioning of the Surgery Department.
Performs appropriate intra-operative techniques to assist physician.
Pursues educational opportunities to maintain and expand personal and professional goals.
Actively participates in competency assessment process.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
