Responsibilities

  • Combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedure, and implementation of tools and technology to facilitate a physician/CNM performance in labor and delivery.
  • Set up surgical instruments and equipment and maintain sterility.
  • Assist with preparing patients for the operating room or delivery.
  • Pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and assist with holding retractors and other instruments.
  • Maintain inventory in all delivery and operating rooms.
  • Assist with clerical duties including entering patient orders, maintaining the delivery log, and daily patient census.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Surgical Technology program
  • Must be certified through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
  • Active BLS certification
  • 1-year of Labor and Delivery Surgical Technologist experience
