Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:
Responsibilities- Demonstrate the ability to perform assistive duties in the L&D area under the direction of the RN
- Responsible for the preparation, disbursement of surgical supplies, equipment, and instrumentation pre-, intra-, and post-operatively
- Demonstrate knowledge of principles of asepsis
- Assume responsibility for clinical competence and professional development
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Infant Security Plan
- Transports stable newborn via crib within the Woman's and Children's departments
- Participate in the responsible management of all departmental resources
Qualifications Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technician course or equivalent
- Current BLS certification
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Certified Surgical Technologist preferred but will consider LPN with 1-2 experience in a similar position
- One year of operating room experience
