Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the ability to perform assistive duties in the L&D area under the direction of the RN
  • Responsible for the preparation, disbursement of surgical supplies, equipment, and instrumentation pre-, intra-, and post-operatively
  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles of asepsis
  • Assume responsibility for clinical competence and professional development
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Infant Security Plan
  • Transports stable newborn via crib within the Woman's and Children's departments
  • Participate in the responsible management of all departmental resources

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technician course or equivalent
  • Current BLS certification

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist preferred but will consider LPN with 1-2 experience in a similar position
  • One year of operating room experience
