This facility is a Level 1 trauma center featuring a comprehensive cardiac care program with an 8-bed cardiac ICU. The medical center provides advanced cardiac and thoracic surgical services to the community and surrounding areas, with state-of-the-art equipment and a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach to patient care.
Opportunity: CA licensed - Cardiothoracic, Cardiovascular or Thoracic Surgery
This locum tenens opportunity is seeking two surgery positions - one primary surgeon (Cardiovascular or Cardiothoracic) and one backup surgeon (Cardiovascular, Cardiothoracic, or Thoracic). The ideal candidate will possess California licensure, California Fluoroscopy license, California DEA, and a clean medical malpractice history.
Job Details:
- Board Certification in Cardiothoracic, Cardiovascular, or Thoracic Surgery required
- PALS certification required
- Fellowship trained physicians preferred
- Typically 1-3 patient encounters per shift
- Estimated credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days
- Preferred skills include general CV/thoracic surgery (open and endoscopic), coronary artery bypass surgery (on and off pump), valvular repair/replacement, aneurysm repair, lung resection, and various other cardiac procedures
- Experience with TAVR, CABG, bronchoscopy, and insertion of central lines, arterial lines, PA catheters, and IABP preferred
- Vascular surgery skills also valued, including open and endovascular procedures, aneurysm repair, bypass procedures, and endarterectomy
