Coverage Needed:

  • ASAP - ongoing
  • Scheduled Clinical Hours Plus Call
  • Trauma and EGS: Monday through Friday,
  • SCC is Mon-Sun + Trauma backup

Clinical Details:

  • Practice Setting: Inpatient
  • Admissions Required
  • Patients Per Shift: Trauma/EGS 30-40; ICU 12-17
  • EMR System: Epic
  • Support Staff: Residents and APPs
  • Call Type: Beeper
  • Trauma Level: 2
  • Rotate on one of 3 ACS services: Trauma, EGS, SCC
  • Assist with coverage of dedicated trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care services in a teaching hospital
  • SCC service weeks include weekend coverage for the trauma floor and ICU

Requirements:

  • Board Certified in General Surgery & Surgical Critical Care
  • Fellowship: Preferred
  • Licensed in NC
  • ACLS, ATLS
  • Comfortable with full gamut of patient care in trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care
  • Experience in robotic surgery and rib plating is a plus
