25 bed Hospital Critical Access hospital- currently under-going expansion and all new equipment. 1 General Surgeon is retiring after practicing in this community for 30+ years.
Job Share 1 FTE - ideally 1 month on/1 month on (negotiable) - 26 weeks a year
Typical schedule can be start at 0700 and done by noon.
SD licensed will be required; okay if physician does not hold license at time of submission. Majority of surgical caseload to include general cases such as appys, gall bladder, simple ortho (knee scopes, carpal tunnels) along with endo scopes
The Family Practice/ OB docs perform the c-sections but not opposed to a General Surgeon assisting with this.
The medical staff consists of:
3 FP with OB Physicians
2 IM Physicians
2 General Surgeons (job share)
2 PA
4 NP
1 Nurse Midwife
Total surgical cases in a year are between 200-300.
