Job Title: Locum Physician - Surgery - Trauma Summary:
Join a dynamic team at a Level II Trauma hospital located in picturesque Santa Maria, California. This facility is looking for dedicated trauma specialists to provide 2-4 trauma call coverage shifts per month from May to September. You will be supported by a skilled team and have access to a full range of hospital support services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide trauma coverage in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Manage and evaluate trauma patients, performing necessary procedures.
- Collaborate with PAs and hospital support teams during shifts.
- Participate in weekend and holiday call schedules as required.
- Address all admissions and see approximately 20 trauma patients daily.
- Document patient interactions accurately using EMR (Cerner).
- Respond promptly to call-ins, with an expected average of 2-4 hours per callback.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgery - Trauma (Required)
- Trauma Fellowship (Required)
- Clean malpractice history preferred
- DEA Certification
- ATLS certification (not necessarily current)
- Valid California State License (Required)
- Ability to travel within California (Required)
