We invite you to apply for a locum tenens position at a well-respected healthcare facility located in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. This opportunity will allow you to work in a supportive environment while covering call for a rural hospital. You will be part of a dedicated team, where patient care and community service are at the forefront of our practice.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient surgical care and cover call at the facility.
- Utilize medical scopes and perform treatments for food bolus and GI bleeds.
- Respond to call-related inquiries within 20 minutes.
- Manage patient encounters, averaging 0-6 encounters per shift.
- Conduct consultations via phone as needed, with an average of 0-6 phone consults.
- Work with the Epic EMR system for patient documentation.
- Coordinate with hospital staff for patient admissions and care.
- Potentially supervise other providers if necessary.
Qualifications:
- Board eligible or certified in General Surgery.
- Comfortable and experienced with scopes and managing GI conditions.
- Experience in a rural healthcare setting is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Licensure and Certification Requirements:
- Active medical license in the state of Wisconsin.
- Current board certification or eligibility in General Surgery.
- Fellowship training is preferred but not required.
- Temporary privileges available to qualified candidates.
