General Surgery PA Locums Job in Maryland 6-12 Shifts of Coverage Per Month May Start Assignment
Coverage Needs:
- Three 12-hour shifts a week, 6-12 shifts per month
- Weekdays, 7:00a-7:45p + Night Call 4:30p-7:00a
- Weekends, 24-Hour Beeper Call, 7:00a-7:00a
Assignment Details/Requirements:
- Privileging Timeline: 90-120 days, temporary privileges are an option if clean background and malpractice
- Care coordinator for surgeons, referring physicians, nursing staff, etc.
- Screens patients and performs complete histories and physical examinations.
- Orders/prescribes necessary medications, laboratory and radiologic studies, routine fluids, diets, patient activities and similar patient care orders.
- Performs surgical assistant responsibilities to including handling tissue, providing exposure, using instruments, suturing and tying, and providing hemostasis.
- Respond to the Emergency Room to manage and/or assist with trauma resuscitation.
- Instruct patients on discharge information, home care of wounds, use of medication, diet or other aspects of health care.
- Requirements: MD license
- Facility Information: 200 staffed beds, >25,000 annual ER visits, Trauma Level 2
- EMR: Cerner
