Position Overview
A Level 1 trauma center in eastern North Carolina is seeking a board-certified Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon with advanced trauma experience for weekend inpatient call coverage . This role is ideal for surgeons actively practicing in high-acuity trauma settings, experienced in managing complex facial, extremity, and craniofacial trauma cases in both adult and pediatric populations. Assignment Highlights
•   Level 1 trauma designation (974-bed tertiary care center)
•   Inpatient only - no clinic responsibilities
•   No ICU duties or code response
•   Strong surgical backup (trauma, neuro, general surgery)
•   EPIC EMR
•   Joint Commission-certified agency
•   Credentialing support provided
•   Prepaid travel and lodging
•   Malpractice insurance included (claims-made policy) Procedural Scope
Candidate must be comfortable with:
•   Complex facial trauma reconstruction (adult and pediatric)
•   Cranial defect reconstruction (soft tissue and skeletal)
•   Upper extremity trauma: tendon, nerve, vascular, and skeletal
•   Lower extremity soft tissue reconstruction
•   Hand surgery: fractures (distal radius, wrist, hand)
•   Breast and body reconstruction (general plastics)
•   Pediatric and adult trauma caseloads
•   Burn reconstruction (preferred) Skills & Experience
•   Board Certified in Plastic Surgery
•   Recent trauma call experience at Level 1 or 2 trauma facility
•   Proficient in adult and pediatric reconstructive trauma
•   Strong microsurgical and complex reconstructive background
•   Must be currently taking trauma call or have done so in past 12 months
