As an Air Force General Surgeon, you will serve a pivotal role in ensuring the health and well-being of our nation s airmen and their families. Key Responsibilities:
Perform general surgical procedures and operations.
Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
Manage and lead surgical teams during procedures.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Maintain records and report on the medical care of patients.
Ensure adherence to all relevant medical and safety guidelines and regulations.
Participate in or lead medical training and professional development of other medical personnel.
Be prepared to deploy and provide surgical services in varied and austere environments.
Engage in research to optimize patient outcomes and advance the field of military medicine.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
Successful completion of a residency program in General Surgery.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
Unrestricted license to practice medicine.
Must meet the physical and medical requirements for active duty service in the United States Air Force.
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
